Keeping history alive since 1948

The BVHS is one of the earliest local history societies and we celebrated our 75th birthday in 2023. Our aim is to promote interest in life in the past, both in the Bourne Valley and in our surrounding area. We provide a varied programme of lectures, walks and visits so that there is something that will appeal to everyone.

Involvement with the local community is important to us whether it is supporting projects at schools or displaying photographs and memorabilia at parish fetes and other occasions. We are fortunate to have a wealth of carefully preserved archives that include documents, booklets, photographs, maps and many other items that are connected with the Bourne Valley. Selected archives are on display at each meeting.
Formed in 1948

Our current membership stands at over 100 and we always welcome new members and visitors.
